You need a fine combination of relevant exercises and necessary nutrition to build bigger muscles. You cannot gain muscles without the quintessential proteins complemented by healthy carbohydrates. There are many exercises that would help you to gain mass but only a few will have a more pronounced impact. If you cannot invest months into a workout program and need faster results then you must prioritize these five exercises to build bigger muscles.
You should perform squats regularly. You should choose a set of weights that you are comfortable with but what will also challenge your strength and endurance. If you can perform ten squats with a hundred pounds, then you should raise the weight by twenty pounds and try the same ten reps. If you can do with two hundred pounds, then you should aim for twenty to forty pounds more. You would not gain muscles unless you challenge your body to lift more weight. You may wonder if squats should be the first thing to focus on here. The truth is your upper body will never develop healthy mass or bigger muscles unless you have enough strength in your legs, hips and core muscles.
Pull yourself up, don't let yourself down
The second exercise to focus on is pull-up. You can never have an amazingly bulked up physique if you cannot do enough pull-ups. Bulk is not necessarily muscles or mass. Those who are bulky but cannot do enough pull-ups have weak muscles and more of the bulk is actually fat. You should be able to do more than ten pull-ups at a time and be able to repeat it three to five times.
Hit the bench
Bench-press is the most important exercise to gain muscles in and around your chest. Do not confine yourself to the traditional bench-press. You must mix and match the conventional exercise with inclined bench-press, employ dumbbells to supplement the barbells and you should increase the weights as you progress from the first set to the third. Try to challenge yourself with five sets of increasing weights.
Be a soldier
The military press is an amazing exercise if you wish to gain weight. It is not as hard as some people perceive. Military presses are easier than pull-ups for many people. There are variations of military press. You can choose the traditional one but make sure you have perfect posture while working out. If you're looking for a variation, try using a kettlebell.
Rise from the dead
Dead lift is the fifth exercise you need to build bigger muscles. You can only have a larger torso and a more chiseled body despite having enough muscles if your lower half is strong and your core strength is phenomenal.
